What goes into a new swimming pool from start to finish
A new inground pool starts with a design and permit phase. We draw plans showing pool shape, dimensions, equipment pad location, and the relationship of the pool to the house and yard. Those plans go to your city's building department for a permit. Once approved, excavation starts. After excavation, the shell goes in — either a fiberglass shell (lowered in by crane) or a gunite/shotcrete shell built in place. Then plumbing and electrical rough-in, shell finish (plaster, pebble, or quartz), coping and decking, equipment installation, and finally filling and commissioning.
We don't subcontract the shell and hand it off — we manage the entire project and have eyes on every phase. That matters when you're coordinating excavation, inspections, shell delivery, and decking work that all depend on each other. Gaps between contractors cause delays; we close those gaps by doing it ourselves or managing tight handoffs with specialists we work with regularly.
Pool equipment, energy efficiency, and long-term costs
The equipment package determines how much a pool costs to run. Variable-speed pumps use 50 to 70% less energy than single-speed models and are now required by code in many states. LED lighting cuts energy use significantly versus older halogen fixtures. Salt chlorine generators reduce chemical cost and maintenance versus traditional chlorine systems.
